Lawyers for a Saudi man convicted of a sex crime in Colorado are considering another legal challenge after a judge denied his previous request to be sent home. John Portman, who represents Homaidan al-Turki, says they're looking into court rules that allow people to challenge their convictions on several grounds, including newly found evidence. Al-Turki was convicted in 2006 of sexually abusing his Indonesian housekeeper and keeping her as a virtual slave. He was sentenced to 8 years to life. He's asked to have his prison term reduced to probation so he could return to Saudi Arabia.

Rockies Owner Pleads Guilty to DUI
Colorado Rockies co-owner Charlie Monfort has been ordered to stay away from alcohol after pleading guilty to DUI. Monfort entered his plea today in Greeley and was sentenced to two years probation in a case stemming from his arrest last November in Windsor. During the first six months of his probation, Monfort will have to wear an ankle bracelet that can detect alcohol use and then submit up to two breath tests a day. He also must do 120 hours of community service. The Greeley Tribune reports that Monfort has been in alcohol treatment for about two months.
