Police investigating Colo package bomb that hurt 2

LAFAYETTE, Colo. (AP) — Police are investigating a package that exploded and injured two people in Lafayette.

Authorities say the blast occurred Saturday after a woman picked up two packages left outside a home and carried them to a vehicle. One exploded, injuring 44-year-old Allyson Stone and her husband, 59-year-old Christopher Stone.

Neighbors said the couple were taken to a hospital with a burn unit. Their conditions weren't immediately known.

Police and firefighters didn't immediately return messages on Sunday.

Police said Saturday they believe the couple were specifically targeted and stressed there was no danger to the public.

Allyson Stone received death threats in 2010 after a dog bit her and the case went to court. Authorities say they don't believe the explosion was related to that incident but hadn't ruled it out.
