Pay to Promenade Your Pooches

People who enjoy walking their dogs in Cherry Creek and Chatfield state parks will have to pay a fee to use the open space.

On Saturday both state parks began charging extra fees for free roaming dogs. The passes, in addition to the regular park entrance fees, cost either $2 a day or $20 a year.

State parks sold more than 100 annual passes on Saturday. One pass covers up to three dogs.



Polar Plunge Raises Money For Alzheimer's

It may have been cold outside, but that didn't stop some from plunging into frigid waters this weekend to raise money for research of Alzheimer's Disease. With temperatures near six-degrees and a water temperatures around 34-degrees, about 750 people participated in the annual Polar Plunge at the Boulder Reservoir. Organizers say almost 30-thousand dollars was raised online to help the Alzheimer's Association.

Colorado Man, Four Kids, Die In Washington Inferno

Investigators in Redmond, Washington are combing through the remains of a Saturday fire that claimed the lives of a former Widefield, Colorado man and four of his kids. Thirty-two-year-old David Thompson died in the New Year's Day blaze that also killed four of his children ages two to 12. Thompson's wife Lilly Resor escaped the fire and is being treated for smoke inhalation at a Seattle hospital. Family said Thompson moved from Colorado to Washington about a year-and-a-half ago to start a new life.
