About 25-thousand ears of corn were harvested by hand to benefit area food banks Saturday. Mike Kosman set aside two acres of his land for the project. Volunteers from around the state came to help with the harvest. The Food Bank of the Rockies is handling distribution to food banks across the state, including Caring Ministries of Morgan County in Fort Morgan. That means a portion of the corn is coming back to the county where it was grown.

People who lost their homes in the High Park Fire will have less red tape to contend with as they go about rebuilding. The Larimer County Commissioners approved a measure yesterday that eases building restrictions and makes the permit process more user friendly. Commissioners are now considering requests from home owners for partial of complete fee waivers, and rapid repair to roads in neighborhoods destroyed by the flames.

The Brush Chamber of Commerce Cash Mob movement continues this week, in spite of the downtown construction. Thursday's target is the Brush Hallmart on Clayton Street. Chamber officials hint that wearing a hard hat to a Cash Mob event might entitle you to more special deals from merchants.
