Boulder Police are investigating the case of missing underwear, swimsuits and belts. Police got a call from a woman who returned to her apartment from being gone for two weeks, and first, found the security chain, that can only be used from inside the apartment, was on the door. Then, after getting the landlord to cut it to gain entry, found her underwear, belts and swimsuits gone. The victim told police that save for one window she couldn't lock, all the windows and doors were locked. Police said a play station and a jar of money were not touched.

Holiday Christie In Jail
Holiday Christie called a judge last week to say she was a thousand miles away and would not make her court date a week ago. She was due to face a judge because she faced nearly 20 counts of animal cruelty. Christie showed up in Fort Collins yesterday to get her animals -- that she calls her "babies" -- back, but was arrested instead. Christie is accused of having the animals in a U-Haul trailer in the heat. Christie jumped bail in Texas. She was taken to jail during an interview with 9News yesterday. One of her dogs has been euthanized, and others are ready to be adopted.
No Lawn Watering In Wiggins
Wiggins residents are under water restrictions. Town officials say until further notice, there's no lawn watering. They say the town's wells cannot keep up with the demand that sprinklers put on them. Wiggins Town Administrator Bill Rogers said the water level in the water tower is below the pipes that normally send water into homes. Rogers said the hike in water usage is probably because of a lack of rain and all the heat that's drying everything out. So no lawn watering in Wiggins this weekend.
Penny Selected Sterling City Attorney
Saying he's humbled and honored to represent the city, J. Curtis Penny was selected as Sterling's interim city attorney. Mayor Larry Fetzer said Penny is qualified for the job.
"He and his father both were city attorneys in Burlington for many years, and though its been many years since he's done that work, he has some background in it."
Sterling has been without a city attorney since Kelly Barlean was let go in July. Fetzer said that while Penny will work part time, he will be available when the city needs him..”

Teamsters File Lawsuit To Nullify Frontier Pilot Concessions
(Denver, CO) -- The Teamsters are suing to block concessions by Frontier pilots. The union is also seeking an injunction that orders Frontier and parent company Republic Airways to deal only with the Teamsters, which recently won an election to represent Republic pilots. The lawsuit filed yesterday contends Frontier and Republic conspired to interfere with the election in exchange for concessions from pilots.

(Denver, CO) -- Could President Obama lose Colorado in 2012? The former president of the Colorado State Senate thinks so.
John Andrews said, "Democrat Governor John Hickenlooper said if the election were held today, Obama would have quote 'a hard time carrying Colorado' because all the people who have been out of work for so long, all the concern about an economy that's just in a ditch."
Andrews said the President will have a tough time in Colorado next year because of his economic policies. Colorado went for Obama in 2008 after voting for former President George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004.

Colorado Lottery reports record in sales
DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Lottery says record sales of Scratch tickets and new Jackpot games helped it post nearly 519 million dollars in sales for the fiscal year that ended June 30.
That's the Lottery's best sales performance on record and represents a 3.5 percent increase from the previous year's sales.
The Lottery paid out more than 328 million dollars in prizes in the latest fiscal year, up from almost 308 million dollars in the previous year.
Colorado Lottery says Great Outdoors Colorado will receive 56 million dollars from the sale of lottery tickets in the last fiscal year.
The Conservation Trust Fund will receive just over 45 million dollars, Colorado State Parks will receive about million dollars, and about 662 thousand will be returned to the Public School Capital Construction Assistance Fund.

High E. coli levels close Chatfield swim beach
LITTLETON, Colo. (AP) — Chatfield State Park's swim beach is temporarily closed after routine water-quality tests showed high levels of E. coli.
Park officials said yesterday the high levels may be due to recent heavy rains and high temperatures.
The beach also closed three times last month came after heavy rains washed over fields, lawns, streets, sidewalks and businesses and drained into Chatfield.
Chatfield officials say the beach will reopen once bacteria levels are back within standards set by the state health department.

DENVER (AP) — Oil and gas producers are taking up an odd subject at the Rocky Mountain Energy Epicenter conference in Denver — medical marijuana use by employees.
Attendees will hear a briefing today from a noted employment lawyer at the Mountain States Employers Council, Curtis Graves. Graves planned to talk about employer and employee's rights as legal loopholes arise for the use of marijuana.
Colorado's constitutional provision about pot says that "nothing in this section shall require any employer to accommodate the medical use of marijuana in any work place." But employees and patients have been confused about whether patients can be fired who don't use pot on the clock.
Graves says that having a marijuana card does not give an employee a disability that must be accommodated under law.

2 Colorado men accused of using child porn network
DENVER (AP) — Two of the dozens of people indicted on charges accusing them of participating in an international child pornography network are Colorado residents.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Carl Rusnok said Wednesday that Jeffrey Rodriguez of Aurora and Scott Lewandowski of Pueblo were among 72 people charged in the case.
Prosecutors say the network used an online bulletin board called Dreamboard to trade tens of thousands of images and videos of sexually abused children.
Rusnok says Rodriguez and Lewandowski are suspected of being Dreamboard members.
Murder charge filed in tow truck driver's death
GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) — A Lakewood man accused of fatally hitting a tow truck driver with his vehicle has been advised he faces nine charges including first-degree murder with extreme indifference, driving under the influence, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Twenty-eight-year-old Zachariah Dobler is being held without bond. Prosecutors allege Dobler was driving a vehicle that struck 41-year-old Alan Dilley of Wheat Ridge as Dilley was preparing to tow a car involved in a crash at an Arvada intersection July 31.
Dilley was thrown 120 feet and later died. Police arrested Dobler a few blocks away.
Prosecutors allege Dobler had driven his vehicle through cones that were set up to direct traffic through the intersection.
