Glenn Miller Days are underway in Fort Morgan, Governor John Hickenlooper having declared thus through June 26. Actually its Glen Miller Days all over Colorado. Fort Morgan will host the Viaero Glenn Miller Swing Fest. Miller was a graduate from Fort Morgan High School. James Graff is the director of the School for the Performing Arts who said it was cool that Miller graduated from For Morgan. Funds raised this weekend will be put toward scholarships for students at the school.

"Operation Dry Water" is This Weekend
Marine law enforcement officers from Colorado State Parks will be out this weekend looking for impaired boaters in "Operation Dry Water". They'll be looking for boaters with blood alcohol contents exceeds Colorado's .08 legal limit. Boaters convicted of boating over the limit can expect fines, jail time and a loss of boating privileges. Governor Hickenlooper declared this weekend as "Operation Dry Water" and wants boaters to be aware of the dangers of impaired boating.
Rafter dies after mishap on Poudre, others rescued
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — A person on a commercial rafting trip has died on the Cache la Poudre (kash-luh-POO'-der) River west of Fort Collins.
The Larimer County Sheriff's Office tells KMGH-TV the person was one of four rafters who wound up out of the boat shortly after noon Thursday. Sheriff's spokesman John Schulz says two made it to an island and are being rescued.
A third person pulled from the water might have a broken leg and was taken to the hospital.
Schulz says rescuers performed CPR on the fourth rafter, who died at the scene.
No names have been released.
Authorities have banned tubes and other inflatable devices on the Poudre because it's running high from melting snow. Authorities have warned rafters and others of the dangers of the rushing waters.

Former firefighter charged with misconduct
GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — A former Greeley firefighter accused of giving out copies of firefighter certification exams has been charged with one count of official misconduct.
The Weld County district attorney's office said Thursday that the misdemeanor charge was filed against 46-year-old Roger Moore of Evans. He is accused of giving copies of an old test to firefighters studying for the state certification test he administered.
Greeley fire officials have said there was no indication that Moore sold the tests for money or that anyone cheated on the exam.
Lt. Rick Cudworth of the Greeley Fire Department tells The Denver Post that Moore was fired earlier this month and that he is appealing his termination.
