Sterling's budget will be available for the public to comment on until October 25, and City Manager Joe Kiolbasa said that while taxes are up, revenues are down, and part of that is because the city has lost some retail business this year. The Sterling city budget has to be approved by December 10.

2012 FM Budget Presented Tonighjt
The proposed Fort Morgan 2012 budget will be presented to council at tonight's meeting. Acting City Manager Jeff Well will also present the city's 2012 fee schedule at tonight's meeting. As the city is lowering its reserves, several operating budgets may appear to be running in the red, but the city auditor says that's not the case. The only budget that's running in the negative is the golf fund, which will again need a shot to stay at par from the general operating fund.
