The Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife is sponsoring a Hunter Safety Class beginning Aug. 13. This is the last class before Dove Season begins Sept. 1.
Classes will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Aug. 13th - 23rd. Range day is set for Saturday, Aug. 25th. Classes will be held at the Fort Morgan VFW at 208 W. Beaver Ave. Fee for the class is $10 payable at the first class. Enrollment is open and will take place at the first class on Monday, Aug. 13.th

Sterling Library Grants

Sterling Public Library is getting a 25-hundred dollar grant from the National Science Foundation. The money is earmarked for a series of book discussions next year. The books all have some science or math component to them, but they're popular books. Participants will discuss the books and watch videos the National Science Foundation has created to go with them. .

U.S. Attorney John Walsh is ordering 10 marijuana stores to close or face seizure of their property. The stores have 45 days to cease operation or face civil and criminal sanctions. Authorities say the 10 stores are violating the law because they are within 1-thousand feet of a school.
