An eight year old molestation complaint landed one man behind bars

An eight year old molestation complaint landed one man behind bars. 23 year old Bret Erickson, who was accussed of "invasively touching" a 3- to 5-year-old girl when he was about 14 years old learned his fate Wednesday, after a 21/2 year long court process. The now 13 year old victim's father says his daughter recently expressed that Erikson molested her, and the District Attorney's office decided to pursue charges. Erikson was sentenced to three years of community corrections. Both the victim's father and the suspect's stepmother spoke out against Erikson, saying he hasn't shown any remorse to this very day. But his attorney's say Erikson has led a responsible life since the incident, and is successfully raising his one moth old baby girl.

Some Morgan county seniors are feeling the love. The week of May 12-18 is celebrated as National Nursing Home Week (NNHW) and in the City of Brush a variety of activities and events have been planned to honor residents, staff and families and to encourage the entire community to celebrate those that make a positive difference in nursing homes each and every day. The theme for this year's NNHW is ‘Team Care: Everyone Pitches In', and organizers say this observance is an opportunity to involve families, community members, youth and others in a community-wide show of support and respect for seniors and the staff who provide care support services. Each of the three Brush area nursing homes will participate, in this national observance.
