Morgan County Commissioners moved some money at this week's meeting. They put an extra 215 thousand dollars in for human services because Morgan County Department of Human Services said the money was needed for more out of home placements than expected, and they got less state funding. The Morgan County Lodging and Tourism Fund got another 20 thousand dollars moved from its reserves to its 2010 budget to pay for unexpected events in 2010.

Brush Trying to Attract Bison Processing Plant.
Rocky Mountain Natural Meats could be coming to Brush. City council told staff to offer the company some incentives to get them to open up shop here. Some of the incentives could be stable wastewater rates for five years and stable water rates for three years. The company could pay off the more than half a million dollars in investment fees over a two year period. The city will also waive some fees to get the bison processing company here, like 50 percent off the building permit and plumbing permit. City staff said they're really close to a deal with the company.
Winter Storm Sets in Today
The National Weather Service in Denver says its now a winter storm warning. That's what they're putting out for today and tomorrow. It'll run from 2 p.m. today to noon on Friday. NWS says the Sterling area will see snow and blowing snow. Forecasters says snow will develop and spread southward across northeast Colorado today through tonight and diminish on Friday. We could see five to ten inches of accumulation and the 40 mile and hour winds expected will cause drifting. NWS further says roads will be icy and snowpacked and travel will be difficult. Temps tonight will be below zero and with the wind, they'll feel like 20 below.

Animal Rights Advocates To Rally
Local animal rights advocates will rally at the Colorado Capitol today. It's to mark the anniversary of the killing of Buddy the dog, who was sadly dragged to his death one year ago on this date. Buddy's death has become a rallying cry to prevent animal cruelty. Supporters plan to rally at 11 a.m. on the steps of the west Capitol. A Grand Junction man was arrested for Buddy's death.
Lights Coming To CU-Boulder
Facing safety concerns, the University of Colorado at Boulder says it will install more lights near dorms and walking paths. A report in the "Daily Camera" reported lights will be installed near the Kittredge and Sewall dorms as well as several walking locations around campus.
Couple Arrested After Thefts
Authorities arrested a couple in Pueblo yesterday after they tried to steal three televisions from a Walmart. Employees told authorities the couple placed three 32-inch televisions into a shopping cart and attempted to leave the store without paying. The couple was arrested and held on bonds of ten-thousand dollars apiece.
