Fort Morgan Police Looking for Missing Artwork

Fort Morgan Police are investigating the theft of artwork after a resident, moving from her house in the 500 block of Cove Lane, reported over $3,000 in artwork missing after she had packed it for the move.

The owner told police she had placed several different oil paintings into a plastic container
and left it in the home she was vacating.

The artwork had been purchased from a single artist over a period of several years and several of the paintings were described as having floral images.

Fort Morgan Police would like to return this artwork to its owner and are asking anyone with information to call them at (970) 867-5678.

Lunch Lady Learns at Boot Camp

Kay Wernsman is the food service director for RE-1 Valley Schools and recently went to the LiveWell Colorado’s School Chef Culinary Boot Camp which reauthorized the Child Nutrition Act. She got the district a bunch of orange wedgers and apple corers with a one thousand dollar grant she won. Wernsman also learned about school food policies, time management, flavor profiles, cleaning and sanitation and lots more that will make school lunches better for everybody. She said the district is working on doing more with fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains too, so she learned some of that. Wernsman said that if the reauthorization act passes, the district will be ready as it will require just that to get more federal dollars for lunch programs.

Morgan County Sheriff''s Officials Looking for Missing Girl

Morgan County Sheriff's officials are looking for a missing girl, believed to be a runaway. They say
Savannah Odekirk was last seen late Saturday afternoon, October 16th, leaving her home in the 5000 Block of Rd P east of Wiggins.

She has not been heard from since.

Officials say Savannah has a history of running away from home, however at this point there is no evidence to indicate she has intentionally run away, nor is there any reason at this point to suspect any foul play.

Savannah is 17 years old, about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. She may have been wearing a white “hoodie” and either blue pants, sweatpants or jeans.
She has a tattoo of three stars on her left wrist.
