The Colorado Corn Growers Association says corn growers will not have to repay the money from corn sold in 2008 to bankrupt ethanol producer VeraSun. A news release from the association said attorneys for VeraSun are dropping their claims for payment. National Corn Growers Association President Darrin Ihnen said its very good news when growers are trying to bring crops in. He said growers are glad that lawyers realized there was no legal justification for going after corn growers.

Meeting Wednesday on 60, 61 and 101
If you've hear way more than you wanted and your head is spinning over Amendments 60 and 61 and Proposition 101, go to a meeting this coming Wednesday. It be at 6 p.m. at the Tennant Art Gallery on the NJC campus. If you're for or against the issues, you can get the fact for and against the issues as both sides will be presented. Those on hand will talk about how the issues will affect us locally. There will also be a light dinner before the event and RSVPs are not required, but if you do, you'll be entered in a prize drawing.
