Fort Morgan Police Accepting Unwanted Medications

April 28 is National Drug Takeback Day. Locally, Fort Morgan police will be accepting unwanted or expired medications at the Colorado Plains Medical Center. Officer Roger Doll says you don't have to wait until the end of the month...

Firefighters say they went door-to-door telling people to evacuate ahead of the deadly Lower North Fork Fire an hour before an automated phone system began sending out evacuation alerts. Sam and Linda Lucas, who died in the fire, were among those the firefighters spoke to, according to Inter-Canyon Fire/Rescue. The bodies of Lucas and his wife, Linda, were found at their home. Another woman, Ann Appel, was also killed in the fire. The automated phone calls began shortly after 5 p.m. Inter-Canyon Fire/Rescue says one of its firefighters began alerting residents to leave at about 4 p.m., but some refused to go.

During the 12-month period from February 2011 to February 2012, more construction jobs were created in the Denver-Aurora-Broomfield area than any other metro area in the country accorting to a report released by the associated general contractor of America. They based their information on analysis of federal employment data. The report says more than 63-hundred construction jobs were added in the Denver-Aurora-Broomfield area...an increase of roughly 10 -percent.
