History does not have to repeat itself. Those were the words echoed from the six members of the Innovative Connections High school's first graduating class. The Fort Morgan alternative school's principal thanked families, friends and community members for their support, and noted that without the staff's dedication and kind hearts, these students stories may have ended differently. Each member of the class received an award, and hope for a brighter future.

Just over 1,000 cadets are graduating today. Volunteer pilots are hoping to make the Air Force Academy's commencement ceremony memorable with a flyover. The Air Force Thunderbirds' demonstration team typically streaks over the academy's commencement ceremonies, but the team canceled several performances this year due to federal budget cuts. Privately owned aerial demonstration teams then said they would do the flyover this year.

Fort Morgan is moving full steam ahead with railroad construction. A repaving project of railroad crossings to upgrade tracks through Fort Morgan was scheduled to begin at the Barlow Road crossing. Plans call for repaving of the Sherman Street crossing all day today, (Wednesday, May 29). Crews were supposed to start work today. Work on the Deuel Street crossing is on hold for the time being.
