What the latest on medical marijuana dispensing in Bush? Council was in a work session this week when they discussed not letting voters have a say in November about the dispensaries. Bush's assistant administrator Karen Schminke said council could either let voters decide, or make the rules themselves. Council has already approved a moratorium on marijuana dispensaries until NEXT July so they'll probably wait to see what other cities decide before they make a decision on the dispensaries.

Council To Reconsider Fireworks Ordinance
The Brush City Council is reweighing the fireworks isse. They had been discussing extending the dates that fireworks can be set off, but they've received negative comments about the practice. During the previous meeting a majority of the council was in favor of the extension. It would have allowed fireworks from June 20 to July 5, while the current ordinance only allows from July first through the fourth. So just as the city attorny was drafting the measure, its been put on hold.
