Fort Morgan Police Look For Public's Help In Burglary Case

A home in the 900 block of Meng Drive in Fort Morgan was burglarized on January 6th.

Radon In The Home Program To Be Held in Fort Morgan

Radon has been found to be the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. You can learn about radon in the home on Tuesday, January 25th at the Morgan County Extension Center in Fort Morgan.






Luann Boyer, Family and Consumer Extension Agent says that programs will be given at 1:30 and 6:30 pm. All participants will receive a free short-term radon tester. There is no charge for the program, but registration is requested. Call Morgan County Extension at (970) 542-3540 by this Friday.

Traffic Signal Replacement at Main and Railroad

Beginning Wednesday, January 19, the City of Fort Morgan will begin work to install new traffic signals at the intersection of Main Street and Railroad Avenue.
Beginning Wednesday, January 19, the City of Fort Morgan will begin work to install new traffic signals at the intersection of Main Street and Railroad Avenue. The existing traffic signals will be replaced with new signals and poles that will match the poles installed as part of the Downtown Infrastructure Project. The scope of the project includes removing the existing traffic signals and poles and installing new signals, poles, caissons, control cabinets, wiring and conduit.
The Main Street and Railroad Avenue intersection is not expected to be closed during the project, however at times during construction there may be lane closures.

Colorado Man Gets Help Contacting Sister In Flood-Destroyed Australia


It was a happy ending for an 84-year-old Colorado man looking to get a hold of his 91-year-old sister living in flood-ravaged Australia. Gerald Slatt says he was completely on edge and worried sick about the fate of his sister, Nina, in Brisbane. It took several days but the Red Cross was able to get in touch with his sister, who then called Slatt. He says he was very relieved to find out they were OK. Australian shops are still missing basic essentials, such as bottled water, and infrastructure is so badly damaged that employers are being asked to stagger a return to work to avoid chaos.

Colorado Springs Honors Late Civil Rights Leader



Colorado Springs residents honored the memory of late civil rights leader Martin Luther King Junior yesterday by listening to his speeches and lighting candles. The Colorado College campus featured a remembrance at Shove Chapel as listeners could hear recordings of King's famous speeches. More than 200 people started the holiday by eating at the All People's Breakfast in the college's Cornerstone Arts Center. King would have been 82 this year.

Starbucks To Debut Largest Size Yet



For those looking for an extra jolt of caffeine this morning, Starbucks is now offering its largest size of drinks yet. The coffee shop chain will debut its 31-ounce Trenta cup, seven-ounces larger than its Venti size. The supersize cup will only be available for iced coffee, iced tea and lemonade. The cup's debut will happen in 17 states today including Arizona, Texas and Florida while California's unveiling is February 1st. It will be available in all states May 3rd. The new Trenta size will cost about 50-cents more than its previously largest drinks.
