The Caliche Band has one thousand dollars toward its new uniforms and accessories. Last Friday, nearly 40 students went bowling at Ice Lanes in Iliff and Caliche's band and music director Janelle Lambrechet said it was a big success and that she's grateful to everybody who helped with the event and donated to the cause. Lambrecht said along with the uniforms, the band will replace saxophones and trombones. You can help by contacting Caliche.

Bennet in the Area to Say "Thank You"
Senator Michael Bennet will be in Northeastern Colorado to thank voters for sending him to Washington DC. Bennet will be on his "Thank You" tour in several cities, including Fort Morgan, Greeley, Pueblo, Boulder, Denver and others, meeting voters and saying thanks. You'll recall the race was tight, even the day after the election with Ken Buck and Bennet in a neck and neck race for the Senate seat.
Sterling Woman Hurt in Crash Near Ft Morgan
A Sterling woman was hurt Sunday night when her car hit a deer on Interstate 76. Colorado State Patrol said Michele Wingert was treated and released from Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. Two children in her car were not hurt. CSP said Wingert suffered back pain, cuts and scrapes. Troopers said she was heading east on the interstate just east of Brush when her car hit the deer and spun. Her car had moderate damage.
Woman Slightly Hurt in Driving While Sleepy Crash
Just as Triple A reported that 40 of drivers they surveyed admitted to falling asleep at the wheel, Colorado State Patrol said a Fort Lupton woman was hurt slightly early on Monday when she apparently fell asleep while driving. CSP said Courtney Ostrander was involved in a rollover near Fort Morgan, taken to Colorado Plains Medical Center, treated and released. Her car was totaled in the 3:30 a.m. crash.
