It took about 60 seconds, Thursday, to grant a preliminary hearing to a Sterling stabbing suspect. 20 year old Skyler Nestor, is accused of stabbing Wyatt Barber, after he threw a snowball at Nestor's truck while he was leaving a New Year's house party in Atwood. A Logan County District Court judge granted Nestor's request for the hearing, which will determine if there was probable cause to suspect he committed the crime. His next hearing was set for July 25.

If you can talk the talk, you'd better be able to walk the walk. That's what local Christians are saying as they prepare for the Walk to Emmaus (a - may - us). The original walk occurred more than 2,000 years ago following the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Today's Walk to Emmaus movement began more than 30 years ago, but it is based on the Bible story told in Luke 24. The modern day Walk to Emmaus is a re-enactment of that early walk through a 72-hour retreat, giving believers an opportunity to meet the Christ in a new and life-changing way. Local organizers say that more than 1 million people, referred to as "pilgrims" are participating all over the world. Pilgrims will join the walks at local churches, including congregations in Loveland, Fort Collins, Denver, and Fort Morgan.

Nearly 250 people will pull an all-nighter for a good cause tonight

Nearly 250 people will pull an all-nighter for a good cause tonight (Friday). Members of 23 teams will start walking around the Fort Morgan Legion track Field at 6 p.m., with at least one member of each team on the track until 6 a.m. Saturday, for the Morgan County Relay for Life, which so far, has raised more than $51,000. The event starts with opening ceremonies and a lap of the track by cancer survivors and caregivers. The public is invited to this family friendly event, which will also feature activities to keep the kiddo's busy, including face painting, a tug of war, sack races, a Fort Morgan Rotary Club dunk tank, a water balloon war, and much more.

Rising Gas prices in Logan County have some residents raising their eyebrow. Only the other day, some Sterling residents say, they were in Ft. Morgan and the price was 42¢ lower, and for them that raises some questions, including asking the Sterling City Council and Logan County Commissioners to investigate this blatant disparity. This is not the first time there has been such a discrepancy, and some residents are concerned that the city council doesn't have their best interest at heart. Officials say, in Ft. Morgan the price of gas is cheaper because of oil company competition. Therefore, to make up their losses, other communities, which include Sterling, are paying higher prices. But Sterling citizens say that takes money out of the city's pocket.

Store owners will not have to hide the marijuana magazines they sell. Colorado regulators will not enforce a new law requiring marijuana-themed magazines to be kept behind the counter at stores that sell them. In an emergency rule issued Wednesday, regulators with the state Marijuana Enforcement Division concluded the law is unconstitutional. The state attorney general's office signed off on the emergency rule. The legislature adopted the new law earlier this year as part of a major bill for regulating recreational marijuana sales. The law says that marijuana magazines be sold behind the counter in stores that people under 21 are allowed to visit — such as a bookstore or newsstand.
