Deja Blu to Perform at Clarion Inn Instead of City Park

This week’s performance in the City of Fort Morgan’s “Live @ the Park” Summer
Concert Series has been moved from City Park to the Clarion Inn due to threatening
weather.

The performance will held at the usual time, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., in the ballroom at the Clarion, located west of Fort Morgan on Highway 34 at Interstate 76. Boulder-based
Deja Blu, a variety band that plays many pop, rock and blues standards, will make
a return appearance after earning great reviews for their show in last year’s concert
series.

Jane Perkins of the city’s Recreation Department, who coordinates the summer
concert series, said the decision to move the concert was made early today because of expected thunderstorms this evening. Because the band is a popular one and she did not want the event to be rained out, Perkins negotiated the arrangement with Clarion officials this morning.

The Clarion will serve as an alternate site for any Live @ the Park concerts that must be relocated because of weather conditions, Perkins said..

That's it: Aspen done with extended ski season

ASPEN, Colo. (AP) — Aspen Mountain's extended ski season is over.

The resort had closed in mid-April, but with plenty of late spring snow, it reopened the top of the mountain for skiing over Memorial Day weekend and the following weekend.

Resort officials hoped to offer weekend skiing until July 4 if the snow was good enough, but Aspen Skiing Co. spokesman Jeff Hanle said Wednesday the season is finished.

He estimates about 5,000 skiers and snowboarders, including a couple of first-timers from Mexico, got in some turns during the five extra days of the season.

That leaves Arapahoe Basin as the last Colorado resort to close.

It says it will be open for skiing Friday through Sunday for at least two more weekends.
