Lawmaker Suspended After DUI Stop

(Denver, CO) -- A Mesa county lawmaker is being suspended as a committee chairwoman after she was stopped on suspicion of DUI. Denver police pulled over Republican Representative Laura Bradford last week, but she invoked a constitutional provision shielding her from arrest during the legislative session, so she was cited and sent home in a taxi. House Speaker Frank McNulty suspended Bradford on Friday as chairwoman of the Local Government Committee.
