Search for Alward Ramps Up to Door-to-Door

The man who, as we reported, was due for release from the Sterling Correctional Facility in October, is in fact, a serial escapee, and on the run now.

As we told you, officials say they don't know if Douglas Alward has had any help getting out of the prison, but he does have experience at it. He escaped the Buena Vista Correctional Facility in 1980. In 1985 from the Colorado Territorial Correctional Facility. In 1991, he escaped with another inmate from the Fremont County Courthouse. The FBI's involved and calls Alward "resourceful".

"If he was that resourceful to get out of prison, more than likely he had thoughts or resources on the outside. He at least went that far."

FBI public affairs specialist Dave Joly told CBS 4 in Denver that they're doing a door-to-door search because Alward could be anywhere.
