Front Range, NE Colorado Passed Over in Latest State Grants

Two projects in our area were passed over by state officials in their latest round of grant-making. According to a news release yesterday from the Governor's office, Weld and Adams counties did not make the cut, and projects in southeast and southwest Colorado did. Weld county had asked for money to upgrade its pubic safety radio infrastructure, while Adams county had asked for money to help its Regional Training Facility. 17-million dollars of grant funding was spread between the seven projects that did pass muster. Those include a new interchange at US-6 and I-70 in Parachute, an overpass near Grand Junction, a regional broadband service for the Durango region, and a bypass for US-50 around Delta.
